With AdWords, you can target your ads to appear only in specific geographic locations. Advertisers can choose country-level, region-level or city-level targeting. Adwords also gives advertisers the ability to select customized targeting. This option will show your ads to people searching for results in an area you define (radius or borders defined by the advertiser).

Advertisers bid against others in an auction-style marketplace based on a cost per click (CPC) model. Overall I have been very pleased with traffic quantity and quality in Google local targeting.

Google Local is one tool that is extremely useful for people like me who depend upon the WWW for finding out answers to even the minutest of things!

I bumped onto Google Local only a few days ago and I'm kind of jealous of the people and businesses in the USA who are deriving benefit from this immensely useful tool.

It allows people to search for businesses for any kind of products/services they are looking for in and around their area. It not only provides the location/address of these busineses but also provides with directions! I can't cease to imagine how useful a tool this could be for tourists in unfamiliar cities!

It also allows businesses to list themselves and add information about their business. This enables them to be able to bring in customers they wouldn't have otherwise been able to reach.

Just how crucial can the "local search" traffic can be to a business is evident from a recent survey, the results of which show that approximately, a whopping 109 million people in the United States searched for local content online in July, a 43 percent increase from the number who conducted local searches a year ago.

It is amazing to note how much of business potential this search traffic has.

If only Google launched this service for my country, India as well! Ah, wishful thinking... Rolling Eyes

Google local network is really good and helpful for the areas they cover but sadly they donot cover all the countries.Google's local service provide extremely detailed and useful ground level information which really make you think that world really is turning into a village.Hopefully in near future there services will be extended to most of the population of world.Local network allow them the option of pinpoint advertisement which is really wonderful for advertisers.This allow local advertisers to reach the customers living in their vicinity through Google's local service and hence increasing their revenue to a new level.
